Joyce Jiahuan Liu

Joyce Liu is the president of Lumi Studios. She has multidisciplinary background in urban planning, architecture, and design. She specializes in visual storytelling and is able to transform images into vivid graphics and animations. She was first involved in video production with Uytae Lee in PLANifax, a non-profit in Halifax. She later founded Lumi Studios to bring the PLANifax videography style to a wider audience. As a world traveller, Joyce has explored over 15 countries with her camera. Being immersed in many cultures around the world has made her a spontaneous storyteller and sensitive explorer.

Kaitlyn Pilloud

branding director

Kaitlyn Pilloud is the branding director and a designer at Lumi Studios. She ensures that the Lumi Studios brand looks consistent across everything that we do and helps out with some of the design work that we produce. Kaitlyn earned a Master of Design degree from NSCAD University in 2018 and a Bachelor of Applied Art in Visual Communication from Medicine Hat College in 2015. She loves being able to tell stories through her design work and enjoys helping others find their own unique visual voice through their branding identity. When Kaitlyn isn't at the office, you will probably find her in her favourite space to explore: a museum.

Uytae Lee

producer

Uytae Lee is the producer at Lumi Studios. He first began producing video content as the director of PLANifax, a non-profit in Halifax that aims to educate the public on local city politics, plans, and developments through video. He later co-founded Lumi Studios as a way to bring PLANifax’s videography style to other municipalities and a wider audience. Over the course of his time in the film industry, he has worked with news organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups to bring community issues to the public eye.

Weili Zhang

Weili Zhang is a professional UI and UX designer with an extensive background in designing graphics, websites, mobile apps, magazines, and more. He previously worked as Design & Creative Lead at WeUsThem Inc. in Halifax, NS. He brings his expertise to the team to ensure that our audiences have an aesthetically consistent and enjoyable experience.

Jerry Yunlinghao He

photographer

Yunlinghao He is a contributing photographer of Lumi Studios.

In 2013, he officially started collecting antique photography and since then, the collection and research has inspired him to expand the scope of his own photography. Shooting street and portrait photos has become his profession. His high levels of efficiency and great communication skills have been acquired through more than 4 years of shooting experiences with school, communities, and individual customers. His work was selected and published in 100 Photographers Focus on Canada, a 2016 photography book by China Daily.
